HACKETT LONDON OPENS FLAGSHIP STORE IN MILAN

QuintessentiallyBritish men’s outfitter, Hackett London, continues with its European expansionby opening a flagship store in Milan. Located on Via Manzoni in the heart ofMilan’s fashion district, this is the first Hackett London store in Italy aftera number of years trading exclusively through many of Italy’s top wholesaleaccounts. The opening of this retail space is in line with Hackett’s approachof opening flagship stores in key cities throughout the world. 


Italy continues to be an important market for Hackett, with the brandshowing on a stand at both Pitti Uomo and Pitti Bimbo trade shows in Florenceover the last seven years. The company has taken its time to find a store,holding out for a suitable location which reflects Hackett’s position as aluxury brand. 

The Milan flagship is a 3,500 sq ft store, set across two floors, withina beautiful stone clad building with exposed vaulted ceilings. The storeconcept brief is to merge the restored historical Milanese architecturalfeatures with Hackett’s strong approach, creating a mix of tradition andcontemporary that perfectly reflects the very essence of Hackett. The storewill be a showcase for the whole Hackett London range from casualwear, toformal suiting and kidswear. It will also include garments related to Hackett’ssponsorships ranging from Aston Martin Racing and the Oxford and Cambridge BoatRace to summer and winter polo. 

Hackett London now has 37 stand alone stores and 44 concessions worldwide.

Looking back to thehalcyon days when London last played host to the internationally renownedgames, Hackett London’s 1948 collection draws on the original sporting kit andreinvents the style to put it in a new, modern context. Using a very Britishregimental palette of red, navy and antique white, the story is a modern takeon classic sporting life which sees the Union Jack flag feature in variousguises, from jacket linings to breast pocket logos. Embracing a gentleman’sapproach to sportswear, Hackett reinforces its partnership with the LondonRowing Club and the iconic Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race with blazersembellished with embroidered crests highlighting that the 1948 collection hasbeen inspired as much by the style of the original spectators as it has by thesportsmen participating.
