Fast forward to three years later - March 2002, 20th Century Fox released the animated feature Ice Age, complete with the scene-stealing Scrat, an animal seemingly identical to Ivy's Sqrat save one letter in its name -"Scrat" (with a "c"). Supersonic is convinced they changed the letter to curtail her ownership. The film, which to date has grossed $378 million worldwide, infuriated her and she not only sued the company but started a media blitzkrieg attaching the film and its producers.

She methodically outlines her arduous war against Fox on her Web site, Sqrat.com, and in another ironic twist – she also registered the domain Scrat.com – which 20th Century Fox never purchased for the their version of the squirrel – rat – Scrat used in the Ice Age movies.

Supersonic has used her own body to advertise her outrage. She had 17 tattoos pierced into her skin in 30 days period as a visual protect and as part of her continued campaign against 20th Century Fox and the producers of Ice Age.

Supersonic, who at the time had no tattoos, was impulsively marked by Lucky a 32 year old Venezuelan artist out of Miami Beach, who tattooed on her the words Justice, Truth, Free and six others.

Mike Bellamy of Red Rocket Tattoo (formerly Triple X Tattoo) in New York City tattooed her six times. He is responsible for the word "Warrior" on one shoulder and another Supersonic "It's all good" on the other. In all, she had 17 tattoos by 3 artists in 30 days.

Or, maybe someone should produce a movie Sqrat vs. Scrat, we really enjoyed and long for those old Gozilla vs. ---- movies.

From designing outrageous hats for such celebrities as Pamela Anderson, Snoop Dogg and Hillary Clinton to getting 17 tattoos in 30 days, the woman behind this story could easily be the center of an exciting, intriguing, suspense movie.

But there is irony to this story, since the central character of this story created a creature that allegedly formed the basic for the beloved character Scrat in the movies Ice Age and Ice Age 2, yet she received no recognition or compensation for her work.

Ivy Silberstein, a.k.a. Ivy Supersonic was walking in the New York City park in 1999 when she though up the character Sqrat, a cross between a squirrel and a rat.

Supersonic sought to secure the rights to the Sqrat character. She commissioned a graffiti artist to mock up the buck-toothed rodent on a napkin. The crude illustration was taken to Quick Sings in Brooklyn where Peter Levine, an employee there digitally crafted a banner, which was unveiled onstage at the KROK- sponsored Dysfunctional Family Picnic concert tour that summer.

Supersonic trademarked the character in June and pitched it to everyone from Warner Bros. executives to her friend Tommy Lee, who she attempted to line up as the vermin's voice should the sqrat ever be animated.

The Sqrat character was featured in License magazine and Jeanne Moos of CNN even aired a segment imaging the Sqrat character running rampant in New York.

Tune in tomorrow for part II - They Stole the Shirt Off Her Back
