That fashion icon and every girls' favorite doll for several generations is celebrating her 50th birthday in March.

So, what could be timelier than to create a fashion show especially for her.

Of course, if you haven't guested by now, that doll is a real Barbie doll, in fact, she is Barbie.

Barbie started out as a teenage fashion model doll in 1959 and cost $3.00, in 1960 she became a Fashion Editor.

Today's 2009 Barbie doll careers include SeaWorld Trainer, Nurse Doctor, Preschool Teacher, PetVet, Gymnastic Coach and Fashion Magazine Intern, so you can see just how much Barbie's career choices have changes over the past 50 years.

Over 50 world renowned fashion designers, such as Badgley Mischka, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfilger, Vera Wang created real live fashion designs for the Barbie fashion show.

The show opened with a model dressed exactly like the first Barbie.

The model wore a black and white zebra-print, sequined swimsuit, designed by Rachel Roy.

Her long blonde hair combed into an oversized ponytail.

This very retro swimsuit design still looks fabulous today.

Another very sexy and retro look, was a two piece black with white polka dots swimsuit designed by Norma Kamali.

Those knees high stocking and arm stockings with black ends really adds to this swimsuit.

Those red open toe shoes also got our attention.

In fact, Christian Louboutin designed the sexy shoes, mostly in pink, to go with the Barbie designer outfits.

Short, shorts are hot and this pink jump suite with short shorts designed by Jeremy Scott is really hot.

What could be hotter than a little pink dress?

This little pink dress designed by Juicy Couture utilizes lacey pink material with golden butterfly design, the petticoat adds flare to the outfit as does those little white bobby stocks and hot shoes from Christian Louboutin.

Another intriguing outfit is this pink, off the shoulders mini dress with square patterns and circle designs by Kai Kuhne.

The long blue gloves give the outfit a futuristic flare to this outfit.

It seems like fashion trends are going underground, at least in New York City.

The New York City subway system is the unlikely background for several unusual fashion events.

First, there was the female group of performers who transformed the N subway line in New York City into a pole dancing experience.

Complete with flips, hand over head movements and riding the pole routines.

Lured on by an online contest, the four young dancers put on an exciting performance for New York City Subway riders.

The high kicking dancer Laura Lee Anderson, dress in dance leotards and t-shirt, treated the subway riders to some high kicks, as she kicked her leg way above her hear.

Dancer Jessica Wu took a couple of spins around the subway car pole in a very sexy school girl outfit including double ponies tales, white high cut off top, short mini skirt with knee high white stocks.

Dancer Marissa Lupp, dressed in a low cut stripe tank top and black pants combined pole dancing with lap dancing, as she delighted the subway passenger with gyrating moves, including a feet over head move on the hand straps.

Marissa performed flawless back bends and pole work as the subway train travel under the streets of New York City.

The fourth dancer, Isis in a red vertical sequences dancer costume, red tights and long white scarp employed her scarp as she danced around the pole.

Really, quite an exciting performance.

The four dancer capped off the dare by capturing the $10,000 prize from DareJunkies.com.

It could be somebody's worst nightmare, to be at work or school and discovering that you forget to wear your pants or skirt, as the case may be.

However, for over 900 young subway riders in New York City, riding the subway in your underpants has become a yearly chance to show off your legs and fancy underwear.

What started out in 2002 as a prank by Charlie Todd, head of Improv Everywhere and six of his buddies, who rode the New York Subway without their pants, has turned into a annual event with over 900 participants in this year's "No pants 2k8" in New York City alone.

Over 900 New Yorkers participate in the 7th Annual No Pants! Subway Ride.

The secret yearly prank is no secret any more, as over 900 men and woman showed up at Foley Square in downtown New York City to participate in the event, this year.

Thanks to social networking sites, such as, Yelp and Facebook, this secret yearly prank has turned into an event for many participants.

In fact, it has turned out to be a world wide event with participants in Canada and Australia taking part this year.

Wonder if it catches on in the UK, I seem to recall UK male models in briefs walking the streets only in their undies.

Well, what better way to display your panties in public?

In fact, many of the participants purchased special underwear just for the event.

From colorful men briefs, polka dot undies among various colorful backgrounds, sexy little pink lacy petticoats on the ladies, woman in hot pink boy shorts, to those daringly skinny string thong panties, it was not only a day to be an exhibitionist but a day to show the world your fashionable underwear.
