Prada : For me had the most interesting knits. The whole belted cardigan appealed to me a lot. The vibrancy of the colors was interesting to note also, its something not common in a/w collections but the rose pinks and aquamarine blue worked.
Neil Barrett : I love the whole leather fusion thingy/vibe going on here. It had this rocker chic feel, a bit gender bending too. Stuff you might catch David Bowie wearing.
John Varvatos : A bit too grey for my liking but a decent collection none the less. The down jacket and scarves are key pieces for fall.
Gianfranco Ferré : Oozed royalty and extreme luxury. Fur has never looked so good on men. The models exuded the kind of picture you might see at luxury ski resorts in
Jil Sander : As Always Raf is the master pattern cutter. You look at some of the blazers and wonder he was able to achieve some of the cuts. Very futuristic collection, with sharp clean lines.
Ermenigildo Zegna : This collection had some of the best layering from all of the a/w 2010 collections in
Emporio Armani : Typical classic Giorgio Armani, need I say more :o]
CP Company : Brilliant stuff from Wallace Faulds. The first look down the runway had a model wearing a mouth guard; don’t know if it’s a sign of another potentially deadly flu break in autumn-God forbid- but I loved the cuts and fabrication.
Burberry : These days with every Burberry collection I expect to see something innovation from Christopher Bailey whom I’ve grown to love. He did those excellent trench dresses for the ladies which were an innovation and with this collection the shearling lined leather boots were another first for me. Not as controversial as Uggs :o]
Bottega Veneta : Tomas Maier kept things cool with straight cut jeans, double breasted blazers and interesting manbags. He also added a bit of color with the purple double breasted blazer and shiny maroon tux jacket.
